Turnout was phenomenal at the Elementary Family Literacy Night on January 23. The event celebrates reading and the One School, One Book selection featuring Some Pig and Charlotte’s Web.
The PS-5 Literacy Committee planned the event, which featured a guest reader station, independent reading in the barnyard with stuffies, building a pig pen for Wilbur, directed drawing station of characters in story, Spider comprehension questions, creating a spider web, and videos of 3rd grade readers' theater. Snacks were provided and over 50 prizes were handed out to student attendees in a drawing.
